1st August 2012 - Where has the year gone?
Weedon Bec turned out to be a fine little village, with a well stocked mini mart. Pedestrian access to the village was though two bridges, one under the canal and immediately following that one under the railway.
Yesterday we set off hoping to get to Gayton Junction where we turn for Northampton. After a couple of hours running the weather turned showery and looked like getting worse so we stopped near Bugbrooke for the night. This morning we only had about 3 miles to run to the junction, so we took it very steadily. At the junction there are full service facilities so we did the usual before moving off a short distance towards Northampton to find a mooring for the night.
Tomorrow we'll hopefully get an early start to tackle the 17 locks and 5 miles into Northampton.
Something I learned yesterday - don't buy milk at a convenience shop attached to a garage. 4 pints priced at £2.00!
